811 Main Street
BG Group Place
BG Group Place is a state of the art, 46 story, 972,000 square foot office tower located in the new epicenter of downtown Houston at 811 Main Street on the block bordered by Fannin, Rusk, and Walker. BG Group Place represents the continuation of the Hines legacy of architectural excellence. Designed by world renowned architect, Jon Pickard of Pickard Chilton. BG Group Place is the newest landmark to grace the skyline of downtown Houston. The project is a classic urban infill development, replacing one of the most blighted blocks in the CBD with a signature high-rise office building that will spur redevelopment, contribute to Main Street’s continued revitalization, and reinforce downtown Houston’s image as an energetic urban destination.
BG Group Place tenants enjoy superior access to and from all major freeways and arteries serving the downtown area. The site is at the forefront of METRO’s future light rail expansion and is in direct proximity to 17 bus stops served by 16 Park & Ride locations around the city – allowing for unrivaled access via mass transit within the CBD. Tenants will have centralized access to Houston’s pedestrian tunnel system by way of a bamboo filled atrium located directly off BG Group Place’s expansive lobby.
BG Group Place clad in a glass curtain wall with horizontal and vertical sunshades. The horizontal sunshades of glass and aluminum sweep around the building’s curved north and south facade, protecting tenants from the Texas sun. The west facade is shaded from the low-glancing evening sunlight by vertical sunshades, which soar 630 feet from Main Street’s sidewalk level to the crown of the tower. A signature feature of the tower is a dramatic 39th floor sky garden recessed into the building’s form that reveals planted terraces and a five-story crystalline atrium. There is also a garage rooftop garden on the 11th floor.
36 floors of offices will sit atop a ten-story podium comprising street level retail and parking (1,160 spaces including 230 reserved spaces). BG Group Place floor plates are average 27,000 square feet and can incorporate up to eight full corner offices. Floor to ceiling glass maximizes natural light in tenant spaces and provide spectacular panoramic views of downtown and uninterrupted views to the east. Three dedicated banks of 18 high speed elevators will service the low, mid, and high rise floors. There will also be three garage shuttle elevators and two dedicated service elevators that will serve the entire building.
